Man's Best Friend

It's no secret that I love dogs. Our own dog McCrady is pretty much our child...and we try and take her everywhere. It's always great fun for me to photograph family pets.

I grew up with perhaps the BEST Golden Retriever to ever live. We lost him this year...but he lived 14 amazing years of life. From the woods and lakes of Washington State...to the beaches of South Carolina...and the open fields of Texas and Nebraska...he lived everywhere. There wasn't ever a squirrel he didn't try to chase!

Then there's my favorite Beagle Cooper and his big brother...Max the black lab. They recently welcomed a baby sister to their family...and they've been GREAT dog sibblings :-D

And of course my sweet baby McCrady...because I take way too any pictures of her :-D

Manhattan - New York State of Mind

Boy I love New York. I'm not sure I could ever live there...but I sure don't mind visiting. The food, the coffee, the architecture...it was all just such great fun. It was my husband's first trip to the city, so I wanted him to really see the sites. After four days, we had walked over 30 miles and really seen every bit of the small island. This is my last travel post for now. The next big trip will be hiking the Ozarks for a week in late October...so expect LOTS of fall foliage to come!

Charleston, SC - Feels Like Home

I had the opportunity to travel back to Charleston, SC this summer. My younger brother was getting married to his beautiful bride at a fantastic location on Daniel Island. While I was in college, my family called Charleston home...which means I was likely the ONLY person in college really excited to get home every break. What a beautiful place. I wasn't there long...but for whatever reason it will always feel like home and familiar. In fact, my husband and I got married there almost three years ago. It was great fun to visit the beach and see some of my favorite spots.

Seattle, WA - The Emerald City

In honor of the Seahawks' win last night (Go Hawks!), I thought I'd blog about my favorite city in the US. My parents live in Seattle now and I try to get there as often as possible. Last year my husband and I took a fantastic trip to the Emerald City and couldn't get over how green everything looked! That green is perfectly shown in this picture below from one of our hikes...IN THE CITY! Yes I know...that really was at a park in the city.

Sometimes I step away from the camera and let my husband snap a few photos. He's always saying I don't get enough photos taken of me...so here I am...with coffee. No shocker there!

I'll also never TRULY get over my parents' view from their place in Seattle. They live in a great little area called Wallingford...which affords them some GREAT views.

And finally a collection of some of my favorite images from the city. Can't wait until our next trip!

At Home - Newborn Photos - Dallas, TX

When I heard a certain Aunt in Oregon was anxiously awaiting more photos on the blog...I decided to get a few more done and share. This was just a great session. There's nothing quite better than seeing a new mom with her son just hanging out at home. It's relaxed, it's calm...it's just how I love my newborn sessions to be.

As you can see, I've posted quite a few photos here. I just couldn't decide which were my favorites. From the two sweet dogs that followed me around the WHOLE time...protecting the new guy...to all the sweet moments with mom. Let me know which ones are your favorite! I always love the feedback.
